Welcome back to my blog! Put on your seatbelts and hold onto your seats because this story is a wild ride. Today I am going to talk about a case that I have just recently learned about, but knew I had to share because it is so crazy. It is around the same time period as the Lizzie Borden case that I talked about in my last post. (If you haven't read it, check it out here !) It also has to do with murder, but it’s not as simple as you would think. In the Lizzie Borden case, whereas it remains unsolved, is fairly black and white. Andrew and Abby were stabbed to death with a hatchet. These murders were disguised as medicine. Linda Burfield Hazzard was born December 18, 1867 in Minnesota. By the time she was 18 she was already married and had two children. She did not stay with her family however. One of the first things that comes to mind when it comes to spooky, creepy, mysterious, is Lizzie Borden. I feel like just about everyone knows her name and what she was accused of, although she was acquitted. She even became a cute little rhyme to sing and jump rope to: Lizzie Borden took an axe. She killed her mother with 40 whacks. When she saw what she had done, she killed her father with 41. Andrew Borden is now dead. Lizzie hit him on the head. Up in heaven he will sing. On the gallows she will swing. For those of you who might not know her story, I’ll give you a recap of her family’s axe murder story that has lasted through the last century and has been made into TV shows and movies. (My personal favorite is the movie, then series, with Christina Ricci as Lizzie. She does creepy like no other.)  Lizzie Andrew Borden was born July 19, 1860 in Fall River, Massachusetts.   So we are most of the way through October and I haven’t put any spooky content up! Not like me at all, I know. Over the last couple of months I have developed some very painful swollen hands that have made me not want to do a lot of things like type for my blog posts or do my makeup like I usually do. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist in November for the suspected rheumatoid arthritis.  With that being said, I am going to type things as I feel up to it, and I will probably have some spooky season content through November. Then as long as I’m pushing spooky season back I’ll probably do it as long as I feel like through the next year as I had a few topics I wanted to talk about in October 😂!
