Happy Hour

Having a drink at the end of the day or on the weekends is always nice. It’s even better when you can get together with your friends and/or extended family. Obviously, that isn’t something that is able to happen right now with more and more towns enacting shelter in place as the corona virus is spreading across the U.S. and the world. That means we’re all stuck at home and have to make our own fun! So, I figured I’d give some fun and yummy drinks to make as we’re all trying to stay sane and have some fun through all of this. Drink # 1:  Sweet Revenge Whiskey . This is a whiskey that is made here in the good old U.S. of A. It isn’t the typical whiskey though, it’s a 71-proof made with natural flavors of strawberry and citrus. It’s not made for taking shots, it’s made to sip and enjoy. Now here is how I personally love to drink it! Do 1-part Sweet Revenge with two parts lemonade (I used strawberry lemonade in this picture – but regular lemonade tastes gre

Story Challenge: Horrors of Frozen Fever

Hey, everyone! In my last post,  10 Ways to Stay Occupied During Quarantine  , I made a challenge for everyone to get creative and write a short story of one of your favorite characters getting sick in the middle of their story line. I took myself up on that challenge! I decided to write my story on Frozen. So, I admit, I cheated a little bit and built my story off of Frozen Fever and turned it into a low key horror story. That's the fun about writing though! You can take a prompt and go where ever it leads you. So here is this short story I wrote, I hope you like it! It was Anna’s first birthday since she and Elsa had rekindled their relationship. Elsa felt that she had to make up for all the birthdays she had missed while hiding away in her room. She knew their mother and father would celebrate Anna’s birthday even if it was just something small, but she was sure Anna hadn’t celebrated one since they had died. This birthday had to be absolutely perfect, but no one seemed to be

Right now, there are many people that are all staying home from work and school due to the spread of the corona virus. Many places have already enacted the shelter in place. Most people aren’t used to all this free time between work and all other social activities – but there are plenty of things that you can do from your home that can keep you occupied during this time. 1) Audible has released children up to young adult books for the public to be able to listen for free without a subscription. This way you can give your kids something to listen to without them staring at a screen. There are even some of the classics that would be fun for the whole family to listen to, or for you to enjoy yourself. Here is the link so you and your family can enjoy this while it lasts:  https://stories.audible.com/discover y 2) Donate blood. Right now, blood centers are more desperate for blood now more than ever. Because people are staying home (which is a good thing

Life Update

The corona virus seems to be all anyone has been talking about for the last couple of weeks. It spread all over the world pretty quickly causing a lot of fear about health. I'm not here to talk about to talk about how you should feel about the measures that are being taken to help “flatten the curve”. I’m here to talk about more personal things that I’ve been tight lipped about over the last few years. This just seems like a good time to do it as everyone has been talking about health and who is at risk of the corona virus.                Many of you may have noticed that after I graduated college I kind of went MIA. I stopped talking about my life on social media and other wise. When questioned what I was going to do now that I've graduated, I gave noncommittal answers like “I’m weighing my options.” I didn’t want to talk about it. I didn’t want to explain myself. I still don’t for that matter, but I don't want to keep my whole life a secret forever.
